What it means for you
- Watch the dev's wallet, not just the chart. The median first sell lands 22 seconds in, before a one-minute candle has closed.
- Selling isn't always leaving. This is the first sell, not the last, and many devs hold only a sliver to begin with.
- A record matters more than one trade. A dev who does this on coin after coin is a different thing from a dev who takes something off the table once.
How we measured it
- Every pump.fun launch from 2026-10-01 to 2026-10-21, each followed on pump.fun and PumpSwap through 2026-10-29.
- The dev is the wallet that signed the coin's creation. The time is from the bonding curve's creation to that wallet's first sell.
- Shares are of all 1,030,628 launches, so a dev who never sold counts in the whole.
What it doesn't tell you
- It's a floor. A dev selling from another wallet, or moving tokens to one first, isn't counted here.
- It doesn't say how much was sold, only when selling started.
